Wind

I ran the same five mile loop over the weekend and again today. On both days, it was moderately breezy (around 10 mph, with gusts upwards of 20 mph at times). This loop is basically a rectangle, and somehow, both days, the wind swirled such that it was in my face on all four sides of the rectangle. I don't mind some wind, but when it is always directly in my face no matter what direction I'm facing, it's a little much to take with a straight face.

I hate you, wind!

I swear at the wind on a regular basis. And it totally switches directions. All the time!

Wind = my #1 running enemy.

Feels like you are running through a swimming pool. Sucks.

The wind can help us in July and August.

A couple days ago on my bike ride into work the wind came from the south in my face, and on the way back it came from the north in my face. Well it was actually more complicated, with lots of "east" and thrown in there.

Last night I did a long run into this mess. Nothing like ice pellets driven by 25-MPH gusts into your face for 5 miles straight. At least I didn't try to do speedwork...
