A post a day on this blog? Woah!

So I just had to share.

My dad's birthday was yesterday (yeah, sort of a crappy day to have a birthday, no?)

So I called home and I was chatting with my mom who told me that she and her boyfriend my sister and her boyfriend were thinking of moving in April. (No, my mom is not currently living at home with my dad and a boyfriend on the side).

To New Zealand.

Seriously, my parents have got to be wondering how they raised two kids who independently came up with this idea. And not because they were horrible parents and we're trying to get as far away as possible from them.

So the good news is that even if I don't get this fellowship, I'm totally going for a nice long visit...

And is it weird that I just dreamed the other night that Jess and Sky (yes my sister is dating a boy with a total hippie name) were getting married in Argentina? I know Argentina and NZ are totally different, but still - I never dream about my sister.

In running news, I have run into this weird situation where I have zero money while I am waiting for a $1000 travel reimbursement to come in and so I can't get my new contacts. Which wouldn't be a problem if I hadn't tossed my last right contact. I have an astigmatism so I can't just put in a left contact. And my glasses?
They aren't really meant for running. Practicality was not in mind when I was at the hands of the fabulously gay Israeli man in Toronto. Running with them is not pleasant as they slip off my nose. And I am totally blind so I can't run without.

But I guess if it works for this dude:
it can work for me...

One of your running partners will have to have you on a tether! I have often thought that this would be a really public-spirited use of my running time, to volunteer to run with blind runners - particularly in marathon training season, you see quite a lot of vision-impaired runners in Central Park. The common method is to have the two people holding each end of a rolled-up bandana!

(Sympathies, BTW, on the grad school cash flow problem, which I remember well...)

Your glasses kind of match you bike. :)

What fabulous glasses!!! (I, too, have glasses I couldn't run in if I wanted to. In fact, I have different glasses for going to the movies and the theatre.)

And an excuse to visit New Zealand. Cool!

man, the Teddi glasses really still look awesome!

ps we should watch "you don't mess with the zohan" together when next we meet, in celebration of Teddi.

maybe if you're a communist, fashionable glasses stay on when running.

That'd be kinda sweet for your parents - they could consolidate on trips to see ya. two for the price of one!

Who says you need to see to run? I ran my best mile race after having my glasses knocked off at the start.

Or you could use one of those elastic strap glasses holder onner things. Or go for the Al Dimond Tightwad Special and use an old shoelace.

Oy, I wonder the same thing. How ANYONE can run with glasses on. I tried cross training with them on once and it was a nightmare.

those glasses ROCK. i run with glasses all the time because i can't wear contacts. you learn to cope with these things! and if they're sliding off, they need to be tightened.

nz, wow! i got some catching up to do! our librarian at work just got married in argentina. maybe you knew that subliminally.
