I thought my thermometer was broken when it said -21

Before I moved to Iowa, I used to have a rule about not leaving the house when it was below zero degrees.

I gave up that rule years ago.

The only thing that is going to make me leave the house today is that I only have 15 minutes left on my battery and I am pretty sure I would die without the internet for the day.

Oh yeah and the pilot light on our furnace went out AGAIN last night.

I'm so glad I am not a homeowner and that falls squarely under NOT MY JOB.

Geez, Iowa is alway one of the last states to get in on the latest trends. Haven't you people even heard of Global Warming? It's all the rage with the cool states. ("Cool" in that other sense, obviously.)

If it weren't for Alaska - which I for one keep trying to get the Russians to take back while Sarah and Todd are still living there - Iowa would be the dead LAST state to get in with the in-crowd.

Wait. Iowa's a state, right? In America, USA?

If not, me no speak-y Iowan, ya stinkin furriner!

OMG. Stay warm. If that is possible.

What Ryan at Pro wash is trying O-so-delicately to say, Danielle, is that he thinks you're a little stinky lately. When people say that to me (and they do), I tell them I prefer to be called "musky"; or, failing that, I'll take skunky.

Frankly, I think he means Joe, not you, because ... that guy? Stink city, is what my sources tell me.

I love the "Not My Job" file! The wind here in Wisco has blown our front door open several times recently. After putting a chair in front of it for the night and calling the landlord, it's Not My Job!

I love that -21º feels like -41º...I mean seriously? Can you really tell the difference?

I hope the extreme cold ends for you soon.

Ugh, -21 is bad. I think this year is redefining the rules of when to go outside, run, etc. Hopefully it will warm up soon! At least into the single digits, please?

Jeanne - I leave my powercord at my office at school during the week so that I am forced to go into my office each morning instead of sitting on the couch reading blogs all day. Because, believe me, I would.

NWGDC - since I live with my landlord (and thus the pilot light IS HER JOB), I almost instituted a roommate cuddle for the night in her room since she has both the dog and the spaceheater to keep her warm... fortunately it did not come to that since she begged a boy to come do it for her. Light the pilot, not cuddle with me.
